Gouache heightened with gold on paper, the foreground dominated by the head of a massive sea monster in the act of devouring a sailing boat, various soldiers and other richly dressed occupants either attacking the monster or trying to escape, the land in the back ground with mountain and waterfall, made up to fit an album border with strips above and below, central crease, slight surface rubbing, pink margin with gold flowers between black and gold rules, on blue leaf painted with prunus blossom and perching birds, signed below by Rezai Shirazi, very slight damages
Miniature 8 7/8 x 5 5/8in. (20.8 x 14.2cm.); folio 12¾ x 8¼in. (32.5 x 20.9cm.)
