With attached note inscribed in ink 1840 May 6th I give this worked hankerchief to John to keep for my sake as he puts a great value on it I worked it at school at Wells when I was 10 years old. Also inscribed in a different hand Worked by Anne Purnall Savage This Neckerchief was worked by my Mother A.P. Savage
