The brick-red field depicting a variety of pictorial scenes from Persian epics including Bahram Gur's master shot, an ivory identificatory inscription cartouche above, inner brick-red stripe with ivory inscription cartouches and flowerheads, in a deep indigo border of polychrome palmettes and dense scrolling flowerhead and leafy vine between ivory meandering palmette vine stripes, outer reciprocal skittle-pattern stripe, localised areas of slight wear, purple selvage
