A mahogany and ebony banded carpenters work box, early 19th century the lid interior panelled in flame mahogany with ebony and holly banding, parcel gilt rosewood moulding and central ivory plaque in ebony octagonal cartouche engraved 'Walter Lawson', the rule-joint hinge with alternate mahogany and rosewood knuckles and chevron banding, the top edges with similar banding, with mahogany drawer-tills with rosewood moulding and ebony and holly banding - 140in (101.5cm) wide; and various tools including a plough-guage, two mortice-guages, a gilder's burnisher, and iron mitre plane with bronze lever, a coffin smoother by Speirs (repaired), a bronze chariotplane, a screw box and tap, two ploughs, eight moulding planes and a 'gents' box saw.
