A RELIC EUROPEAN KNIGHTLY SWORD
Early 15th Century
Of excavated condition, the sword mounted with the steeply angled bronze wheel-type pommel, the tang with faint mark. Arched quillons. Tapered double edged blade with central fuller.
Similar to the pattern of sword commonly associated with Northern Europe from first half of the 15th Century.
28 inch blade, 34 inches overall.
Excavated condition
According to Oakeshott, this sword falls largely into the configuration of "Family A/B. Pommel type I. Blade type XII. Cross guard type 7".
