CASSIUS CLAY "THE LIP" ROBE

Details
CASSIUS CLAY "THE LIP" ROBE
The only known Cassius Clay robe, a white terrycloth robe worn by Clay during his February 25, 1964 fight against Sonny Liston, in which Clay unexpectedly won the heavyweight championship. The robe features the words The Lip stitched on the lower back in red block letters, a reference to Clay's constant chatter and seemingly outlandish predictions. The words The Greatest were later stitched in red script onto the well-worn robe when the champion became better known by that nickname. The robe has been signed on the back by Muhammad Ali. Together with a wirephoto of Ali wearing the robe. Letter of authenticity.
