MUHAMMAD ALI VS. ROCKY MARCIANO MEMORABILIA
Three color movie lobby cards advertising Rocky Marciano vs. Muhammad Ali The Super Fight to be shown on January 20, 1970. The Super Fight was a computer dream matchup between Marciano and Ali, for which the two champions shot actual film footage shortly before Marciano's death in 1969. In the American version, Marciano knocked out Ali in the 13th round; in Europe, however, Ali stopped Marciano on cuts. Marciano died without knowing either result. The three cards depict different action scenes of both men in the ring. One has a tear in the middle, otherwise all are in excellent condition--Each card: 11 x 14 in. Together with a full illustrated ticket for the fight dated 1/20/70 (excellent/near mint); two different color postcards depicting fight scenes (near mint); a 1970 Boxing Annual magazine featuring both fighters on the cover (very good); and one wirephoto (near mint)--8 x 10 in.
