MUHAMMAD ALI VS. LEON SPINKS II FIGHT WORN GLOVES
An important pair of gloves worn by Muhammad Ali as he became the first man in the history of boxing to capture the Heavyweight Championship for a historic third time when he defeated Leon Spinks in New Orleans on September 15, 1978. Both Cleto Reyes gloves are marked Reg en tram, Professional and Hecho en Mexico on the white satin manufacturer's label. The laces have been cut and tied together. Angelo Dundee, Ali's trainer, marked each glove on the exterior near the label, A.D., Ali, 9, reflecting Dundee's prediction for the fight. These significant gloves show wear and usage and are in very good condition. Letter of authenticity. Together with a wirephoto of Ali wearing the gloves. (3)
