AN APULIAN RED FIGURE BELL KRATER
attributed to the painter of the truro pelike
circa 340-320 b.c.
The A-side with a standing draped woman at left, holding a cake in her extended left hand, a thyrsos in her right, facing a winged Eros seated upon a rocky outcrop, a laurel branch between them, with fillets in the field; the B-side with two facing draped youths; with a band of meander and saltire squares below, a band of laurel above, with palmettes below the handles
