Colored frontispiece of a mouse sitting on a spool of cotton and 15 color illustrations. 12mo, boards, printed cover supplied in facsimile; some light soiling and staining. FIRST EDITION, limited issue one of 500 copies, of Potter's scarce second book, PRESENTATION COPY, inscribed and signed by Potter on front free endpaper: "To Kate with love from Beatrix Potter Christmas 1902."
