Maker's mark of John Emes, London, 1799
Spreading straight sided oval, on rim foot, engraved two sides with crossed wreath, one enclosing a crest, the other initialed, the shoulder with running foliate and laurel band, with wood loop handle, scroll spout, the hinged raised cover with wrigglework rim, and topped by oval wood finial, the stand on four feet, engraved with initials, the teapot--6in. (16.5cm.) high, gross weight 18oz.
