Lot Essay

See footnote to lot 39.

Although this colour is called black/green, it looks blue in different lighting.

The photograph illustrated shows Eric Clapton playing this guitar or it's partner in lot 39 at the Masters Of Music Concert for The Prince's Trust, Hyde Park, London, June 29, 1996. Clapton apparently played a set that mixed various blues numbers with his popular hits, typical of the period. It was the first time that Clapton played at Hyde Park since June 1969 when he appeared there with Blind Faith. The concert was filmed and released as a video, Eric Clapton at Hyde Park.
