AN IRON-RED AND GILT-BORDERED 'FOLLY' PLATE

Painted in blue enamel, black, gilt, iron-red and peach with Harlequin in the same posture as in the first plate above, before a windowed wall with a blue tile roof, the borders of iron-red and gilt tassels and cell diaper pattern interrupted by half-flowerheads, underglaze blue double circle on the base (some rim fritting and tiny rim chips, slight stacking wear)--8 3/8in. (21.2cm.) diam.
