Three examples previously recorded (see Schlumberger-Blanchet, Orient latin, pp.86-87). Aimery de Limoges (1139-1196?), experienced mixed fortunes during his exceptionally long rule as patriarch of Antioch. He took responsibility for the defense of the city after the death of Raymond of Poitiers in 1149. He was forced at one stage to flee the city, when he opposed the marriage of Constance of Antioch and Raymond of Chtillon. He was pleased however to preside over the marriage of Baldwin, king of Jerusalem, and Theodora, niece of Manuel Comnenus, in 1158.
