Umayyad, set of 56 Gold Dinars, all without mint name, struck at Damascus in Syria. All dates represented, starting with the highly desirable and extremely rare Dinar dated 77 AH/696 AD, of the Caliph 'Abd al-Malik bin Marwan (65-86 AH/684-705 AD) and ending with the scarce Dinar dated 132 AH/749 AD, of the Caliph Marwan II bin Muhammad (128-32 AH/744-9 AD), both extremely fine; other rare or scarce dates are 85 AH/704 AD, 105 AH/723 AD, 107 AH/725 AD, 109 AH/727 AD, 126 AH/743 AD, 127 AH/744 AD, 128 AH/745 AD, 129 AH/746 AD, 130 AH/747 AD, 131 AH/748 AD, unless stated, generally extremely fine to uncirculated, and the first time a complete set has been offered for sale as one lot at auction
