cover JC, large margins three sides, just clipped at top, on entire used localy in London dated 8 December 1840 tied by black Cross (experimental period), the address written on the reverse of the entire (presumably in error) and the adhesive affixed over the join which was cleanly torn through on opening,showing fine light black "T.P/OXFORD ST.CO" at left; traces of soiling but otherwise fine and a most unusual usage
