Hale, Member of the Quebec Legislature, "via Halifax" to his daughter in Hamilton and bearing Large Queen 6c. blackish brown, the cover sent as far as Halifax where it was marked "returned for postage" (partially reduced) in blue crayon, a further 6c. strip of three (lifted to reveal the original Quebec d.s. and hinged back in place) affixed (6c. shortage + 12c. fine) and cancelled with duplex for 8 April, Quebec Legislature c.d.s. at left, two part Halifax oval d.s. on reverse; the envelope with part flap missing and the adhesives with a few small faults, though an attractive and most unusual franking.
