Crossbanded overall and inlaid with double ivory lines, the superstructure with a rectangular lid inlaid with lozenges, above six variously-sized panelled drawers, centred by a door inlaid with overlapping paterae, enclosing a fitted interior with three drawers, above a slide inlaid with a conforming patera motif against an oyster ground, enclosing a writing-surface and three drawers, above a drawer, the open base with spirally-turned legs, joined by an H-shaped stretcher, on toupie feet, replacements to the base, restorations
