A FRUITWOOD AND PARCEL-GILT FOUR-POST BED
Early 19th Century, probably Austrian
The rectangular canopy with foliate cornice and star-mounted frieze, on fluted turned columns with lappeted capitals and ostrich-feather finials, on fluted legs, previously but not necessarily originally part-decorated and with a mirror panel above the head-board, with green-striped material canopy, head-end and valance, with four bolts, box spring and mattress
The mattress 75 in. x 39 in. (190.5 cm. x 99 cm.)
The bed: 96 in. (244 cm.) high; 43 in. (110 cm.) wide
