A PAIR OF CHINESE FAMILLE ROSE PORCELAIN PHEASANTS
QIANLONG PERIOD
Modelled in mirror image proudly standing on treetrunk-form pierced bases enamelled in bright blue over black, their yellow-crested blue and purple heads held high and turned to one side, gilt-enriched iron-red breasts and bright yellow legs and talons, their folded wings carefully delineated with green, purple, blue, brown, yellow, rose and iron-red plumage beneath purple feathers decorating their upper backs (tiny chips or frits to beak, crest and tail tips, one beak end touched up, tiny flakes or wear to some enamels, some frits to wing edges)--14 1/8in.
