Captain John Isley Greenhead served in the Scots Guards from 1897 to 1909 having previously been a member of the 16th Middlesex Rifle Volunteers. He went on to serve in the King's African Rifles in East Africa during the Great War and was Mentioned in Despatches (London Gazette 14.1.1918 refers).
