Fifth collected edition, but the first containing a Turkish vocabulary with Latin and French translations. Georgievitz "was taken prisoner by the Turks after the battle of Mohacs in 1526 and spent thirteen years in captivity. After several abortive attempts, he finally managed to escape eastwards and eventually reached Palestine. ... His works were first published in Antwerp but during his lifetime he travelled all over Europe issuing new editions and translations and agitating for a new crusade against the Turks. His works proved extremely popular; French, German, Italian, Dutch, English, Czech and Polish editions appeared throughout the 16th and 17th centuries" (Blackmer). Blackmer 671; not in BM STC French.
