Meiji Period (Late 19th Century), Gilt Mark Satsuma Hododa, Gilt Shimazu Crest
Painted in polychrome enamels and gilt over a clear crackled glaze with Chinese immortals in a bamboo grove, the rim and foot decorated with bands of geometric patterns, the cover with similar bands below four gilt Shimazu crests on a formal ground and with a gilded finial moulded as a flower bud
