cover 1859 (15 Jan.) envelope to France, marked "via Suez", bearing 1857 1d. blue and 1/- slate-violet (both touched or cut-into) tied by light oval of bars, showing red crayon "11", handstruck "8" and, on reverse, "COLOMBO/STEAMER LETTER" c.d.s. in red, Alexandria transit d.s. and three French transit or arrival datestamps; the cover with some minor peripheral age stains. A very scarce franking. Photo
