A French rosewood and marquetry Bonheur du Jour
In the Style of Charles Topino, Circa 1880
Decorated all-over with marquetry depicting porcelain items, the supper-structure surmounted by a three-quarter pierced gallery, above six drawers, the three lower lockplates each inscribed HAND MADE SECURE TWO LEVER LOCK, above a shaped rectangular surface, with a guilloche frieze, the front fitted with a velevt-lined pull-out writting surface above a drawer, the l;ockplate inscribed SECURE LEVER, on four cabriole legs, each headed by a satyr mask, joined by a shaped rectangular lower shelf, on paw feet

Lot Essay

The table is reputed to have been purchased in Paris, probably from one of the International Exhibitions of the time.
