Lot Essay
Lopold-Jules-Joseph Gly, employed at Svres from 1850-88 as a sculptor and modeller, is celebrated for developing and perfecting the pte-sur-pte technique. He and his student Marc Louis Solon were recognized for their achievement in the 1862 London International Exhibition.
