Clippers at a Timber Wharf North of Amsterdam

The picture apparently of the same port was with Douwes, Amsterdam, catalogue, April-May 1969, no. 29. A comparable picture by W.A. van Deventer, dated 1849, is illustrated in P.A. Scheen, Lexicon Nederlandse Beeldende Kunstenaars 1750-1950, 1981, ill. no. 355. The watermark dated 1864 gives a terminus ante quem for this drawing
