Although the above medal is not an 'official' F.A.Cup winner's medal as Duncan did not play in the final, it must be assumed that the medal was presented to him by the club to commemorate their first-ever F.A.Cup win when Newcastle United defeated Barnsley 2-0 in the replay played at Goodison Park on 28th April 1910 before 69,000 spectators, Shepherd scoring both of United's
