A George III mahogany longcase clock, last quarter 18th century
The hood with brass finial to pagoda top, outset brass-capped columns and pierced sides (later backed) the arched trunk door banded in ebony and satinwood, with conch shell patera to the centre, with conforming banding to the plinth (shortened) with later skirting, the 12in. wide arched white dial painted with flowers to the arch and spandrels, with retouched centre and signature T. Nurse, Lynn, subsidiary seconds ring above date aperture, cut steel hands, with WILSON falseplate to the four pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement, re-built cheekboards; possibly associated -- 85in. (217cm.) high
