Provenance: Geo. Lewis, March 1798 (inscription on front free endpaper).
FIRST EDITION. Although four copies of the first edition appeared at auction between 1985 and 1996, this is a scarce work. ESTC records only two copies at Carlisle, Cumbria County Library, and the Houghton Library, Harvard. There is no copy in the British Library. Further editions followed in 1813 and 1816, the last not including smelt fishing. W. & S. p. 62; Petit 592.
