$200.00 Green & Red, U.S.I.R. (R102c), 41 singles arranged on eight complete and one partial page from one (or more) similar 1866 documents with printed text, this indenture was between the St. Croix and Lake Superior Railroad (Wisconsin) and three financiers (William H. Swift, Samuel J. Tilden and Andrew H. Green of New York City) relating to the issuance of 6,500 bonds at £200 each (1,300,000 British pounds) payable in the year 1900 (a significant sum of money in 1866), also affixed are other First Issue revenues, R101c (fifteen), R98c (two) and R82c, the lot also includes an unrelated W.F. & Co. draft bearing R15c; the $200.00 stamps all possess deep rich colors and neat ms. cancels, unfortunately every $200.00 and $50.00 stamp has been trimmed or partially trimmed of their perforations prior to being affixed to the document (a true philatelic tragedy!), a few $50.00 stamps are seriously defective, only a handful of documents bearing $200.00 First Issue revenues are known, in spite of these stamp's 'altered state' they are still quite scarce and very impressive appearing, Scott retail is extremely high, but unfortunately irrelevant est.
