On a spreading circular base with gadrooned band between bands of palmettes, rising to a fluted knopped baluster stem, the circular dish chased with elongated gadroons at intervals on rim, marked on base

Lot Essay

This type of footed salver was produced both in Portugal and Brazil. A very similar Brazilian silver salver made by Ribeiro de Rocha, Bahia, early 18th century, sold in these rooms, November 17, 1994, lot 68.
