Maker's mark of George Cooper, Aberdeen, circa 1740
Bullet-shaped on a spreading circular base, the scroll spout with shell join, the leaf-capped double-scroll handle with wood insulators, the shoulder and cover flat-chased with border of scrolls and flowers, the flat hinged cover surmounted by a turned wood finial, the handle engraved with block initials I x L over R; the shaped circular stand on three hoof feet, with molded rim, the border flat-chased with similar decoration, engraved with block initials on reverse I x L over R, each marked under base
The teapot 7in. (17.7cm.) high, the stand 6.7/8in. (17.4cm.) diameter; gross weight 30oz. (945gr.)
