The cream jug and sugar bowl maker's mark of Lothian & Robertson, Edinburgh, 1761; the tea strainer maker's mark of Dougal Ged, Edinburgh, circa 1740
The cream jug and sugar bowl each inverted pyriform, with everted notched rim, the cream jug with acanthus-capped scroll handle, each engraved on one side with monogram CM, each marked under base; the tea strainer of typical form with two shaped tab handles, one handle engraved on reverse with a shell, marked under one handle with maker's mark only
The cream jug 7in. (18.5cm.) long over handle; 16oz. 10dwt. (514gr.)
