A CLASSICAL MAHOGANY BOOKCASE
Possibly Portsmouth, New Hampshire, 1825-1845
In three sections: the upper with rectangular carved crest above a plain freize centered and flanked by inlaid rectangular reserves over a confoming case fitted with glazed doors opening a single shelved interior; the middle with a similar case and doors opening to a four-shelved interior; the lower with a conforming case fitted with two cockbeaded short drawers above two similar drawers over an applied reeded molding centering an incised diamond plaque above a shaped skirt, on ring and inverted baluster-turned legs
