Provenance
Gifted to the owner by her grandmother, Mary Duke Biddle, who was the granddaughter of Benjamin A. Duke and the niece of James Buchanan Duke. Her residences included 1009 Fifth Avenue, where she lived for 50 years, "Linden Court" in Irvington, NY and "Pinecrest" in Durham, NC. She was a great admirer of music, paintings, French furniture and above all jewelry, most of which she purchased at Cartier.
