Milan, first half 19th century
The rectangular top centered with an oval panel depicitng Venus holding Cupid's bow, flanked by Cupid on the left and a handmaiden on the right, within a parterre of scrolled acanthus, the sides with reserves depicting Hercules and Cerberus, above three short frieze drawers with urns issuing acanthus, above a kneehole flanked by two larger drawers, each with fantastic winged creatures holding aloft a flowering basket on their necks, the reverse also decorated, the corners and square tapering legs decorated with grotesques, with a paper label inscribed Eigondom/Mevr.
