Two Meissen figures of Malabar musicians
Circa 1750 and 1765, blue crossed swords mark and blue crossed swords and dot mark
Modelled by J.J. Kandler, both in conical straw hats, he playing the lute, in a fur-lined pink coat and yellow robes, she playing the hurdy-gurdy, in a fur-lined pink coat and striped overskirt, both standing on gilt scroll-moulded mound bases (he with restoration to shoulders, head, hat, hands and instrument, she with minor restoration to right hand, instrument and plant)
