A Staffordshire creamware plate
of Wheildon type, the border crisply moulded with seeded pattern panels below a shaped rim, sponged in brown and splashed in grey, blue, green and ochre glazes, the underside sponged in brown, circa 1770 -- 24.5cm. diam.
