Lot Essay
Henbury Hall is based on Palladio's famous Villa Capra or Villa Rotonda of 1552, near Vicenza in northern Italy. It was built in 1984-86 by Sebastian de Ferranti in collaboration with the painter Felix Kelly, who was commissioned to paint a vision of a Palladian temple in which one could live. The architect was Julian Bicknell.
