An altar frontal of crimson facecloth dated 1643 and initialled "F ME AB", appliqu with a central Virgin and Child, a kneeling monk to one side and a nun to the other, with a banner above inscribed "S. Eustochium.RO", framed within stylised scrolling flowers, foliage and fruiting vines, worked in coloured silks and wools, trimmed with later braid--50 x 26in. (125 x 65cm.), 17th century, Continental, probably re-applied to later ground, slight damage and wear, restorations and re-workings, with later backing
