by Melchior-Ren Barre (fl. 1768-1791), marked, Paris, 1774/1775, with the charge and discharge marks of Jean-Baptiste Fouache 1775-1781
Oval box, the cover, four side panels and base engine-turned with horizontal wavy reeding forming a vertical coin pattern, the sides divided by four pilasters chased with columns hung with laurel swags on a frosted ground, the matted gold rims chased with a band of stylized acanthus in green gold
