possibly Berlin, circa 1760, bearing marks imitating the maker's mark of Antoine Filassier, the charge and discharge marks of Louis Robin and a Parisian date-letter A for 1740/1742
Oval box, the cover, sides and base set with mother-of-pearl panels applied with four-colour gold high reliefs depicting peasant couples at various pursuits, rural animals and landscapes, within gold cagework mounts chased with wavy reeding, similar slightly raised thumbpiece, the sides divided by four pilasters with vertical wavy reeding
