With nickel-finished lever movement, 17 jewels, the silvered matt dial with Arabic numerals, outer date ring with central date hand, windows for day and month, three subsidiary dials indicating constant seconds, 30 minutes and 12 hours registers, the circular case with downturned lugs, engraved inscription A Gigi Villoresi 3 Assoluto G.P. di Inghilterra 1951 Enzo Ferrari to the snap on back, two rectangular chronograph buttons in the band, case, dial and movement signed

Lot Essay

Gigi Villoresi received this watch from Enzo Ferrari for winning the 3rd place in race number 2 at the Grand Prix of England in Silverstone on July 14, 1951, driving a 375 Formula One car with 24 plug engine.
