Lot Essay

The arms are those of de Beaumont. The service was made for Christophe de Beaumont (1703-1781), who became Archbishop of Paris in 1746. See Dr. Hoefer, Nouvelle Biographie Gnrale, Copenhagen, 1964, vol.V-VI, pp.24-26 for the biographical details of de Beaumont.

The design on this service was also used by the Cotlogon family of Brittany.
