A MEISSEN LOZENGE-SHAPED FOOTED TUREEN AND COVER
Circa 1760, blue crossed swords mark
The cover moulded with rocaille cartouches and shells alternate with trellis diaper panels, painted in colours with Deutsche Blumen, the finial as an artichoke with cauliflower and flowering vine surround, the tureen of serpentine form with gadrooned lower body, the four rocaille scroll feet with shell terminals, the shoulder moulded with a variation on the Schoenau-pattern, shells scroll handles, similarly painted with scattered bouquets
