Stamped twice N.PETIT, circa 1770
The later mottled marble top with ormolu rim above a frieze with pull-out, leather-lined writing-slide, over one sham drawer and two drawers veneered sans traverse with a basket of flowers within a leaf-tip cast border, veneered to the sides and back with further floral sprays within similarly-cast borders, the right side with a drawer, on cabriole legs, joined by an associated platform stretcher veneered with a pastoral marquetry scene, the marquetry panel of the undertier 18th-century and reused, possibly in the 18th Century, stamped N.PETIT twice, the marble top with a paper label inscribed 1524
