Lot Essay

This dining-table has an extremely unusual mechanism, with two central sections, each of which swivels so that another leaf can be placed on it. A dining-table with the same arrangement was sold by Sir John Howard-Lawson Bt. and Lady Howard-Lawson, Corby Castle, Cumbria, Phillips, Scotland house sale, 18 May 1994, lot 368.
