A well detailed 1:48 scale model of the tea clipper Thermopylae
built by S. Kershaw in walnut, pear, mahogany and box with masts, yards, stun's'l booms, standing and running rigging, carved female figurehead, catheads, anchors, capstan, bilge pumps, companionways, cargo hatches, deck rails, belaying rails and pins, bollards, rope coils, four ship's boats in chocks, deck houses, deck winches, poop deck with deck lights, life belts, helm, binnacle and other details. The planked hull, with rudder finished in 'copper' plating to the waterline, olive green and varnish, stand and display base with legend. plexiglasss cover. Measurements overall -- 18 x 31in. (47.5 x 80cm.)
