Each of rectangular form with later metal liners and pierced fretwork sides cast with ribbon-tied laurel wreaths and rosettes, on square tapering square fluted feet cast with acanthus (restorations)-29in. (74cm.) high, 55in. (140cm.) wide, 15½in. (39cm.) deep (2)

A virutally identical pair of jardinières by Barbezat & Cie, a firm founded in 1850 specializing in architectural ornaments and sculptural figure groups, was sold in these Rooms, 26 April 1994, lot 211.
